In business and in personal relationships finding the real problem leads to an
opportunity for a breakthrough solution.
Too often we spend a lot of time solving the wrong problem or focusing on the symptoms rather than the root problem. This leads to wasted energy with either no
solution or the problem surfacing again and again.
If you are trying to close a deal with a client ask the client to create the agreement they want to be done. This will reveal what the client really wants leading to the focus in the right direction.
In a personal relationship ask your partner or whoever it is that you are trying to resolve the relationship with, what will it take to make our relationship 10 out of 10? This will begin the process of improving your rating because you know what success looks like.
Finding the real problem is already half the solution. Acting on solving the real problem is the other half.
