Spark!

You hear an inspirational song or a powerful message and you feel like conquering the world.

Next, you go to the office or home and a call comes in or someone interrupts you and in no time you are distracted.

Suddenly from the energy that wanted to conquer the world you have now been brought down to being the same again. You got the spark but unfortunately, you allowed the spark to disappear.

The magic happens when you optimize the feeling and avoid doing anything that disrupts the spark created in you.

There is no doubt that you will get a spark in your life. However, what you do with the spark will depend entirely on you!

Start of the Day

When you do something very valuable first thing in the morning you set the tone for the day.

I had a great coaching call with a client first thing in the morning today that set the tone for the day. By the time the day was finished, I had several valuable client interactions, good family interactions, excellent voluntary work, and effective staff meeting.

It all began with the first call in the morning. Choose what you do first in the morning carefully as it sets the rest of the day in motion.

Corporate Sufi?

What is Corporate Sufi?

I use the word Sufi as a symbol for the esoteric side of all people. It goes beyond labels and focuses on the essence. On the outside people are different, on the inside not that different. Rumi the Sufi giant says, “We are all fellow travellers on the journey of life and we all face the same seasons of life.”

Why is this approach important in the corporate world? It gets rid of toxicity, egotism and turf wars – all of which is highly detrimental for the business.

I use the word “Corporate” in Corporate Sufi to symbolize the drive to excel in business, profession or career.

Corporate Sufi thus reflects someone who is driven, focused and goal-oriented, yet
heart-centered, principle-centered and balanced – a person who aspires both material and spiritual abundance.

I believe that success without happiness is a failure, that balance leads to more success, not less. It is about taking your life from success to significance!

Corporate Sufi Worldwide’s mission is to inspire and empower leaders at all levels to achieve material success, blended with a deep sense of purpose, passion and happiness.

We call this the synergy of Business, Balance & Beyond.

Magic

How does magic happen? We are not talking about a circus magician but the magic that is created by someone like Michael Jordan in sports or Steve Jobs in business.

Michael Jordan in his prime was magic. However, he said he missed hundreds of shots he took. He also missed game-winning shots he was entrusted with. He failed many times and yet he was magic and one of the best ever.

Steve Jobs had many failures including being fired from his own company before becoming an icon of creativity.

Being magic does not mean not having failed. In fact most successful leaders, athletes who end up creating magic go through enormous challenges, struggles, and failures. They fail their way to success.

The key to their success was the unwavering faith that they will make it no matter what. Odds were stacked against them during their journey but that only enhanced their resolve instead of diminishing it.

So if you are going through challenges, struggles, obstacles do not panic. You have to go through enormous hurdles before you can eventually claim the so-called magic.

Give!

The more you give to family, the better the relationships at home. This unity invites love and harmony.

The more you give to colleagues, the better the camaraderie at work. This fellowship enhances your productivity and performance.

The more you give to customers, the better the loyalty you build, and ultimately, a better bottom line.

The more you give to your community, the better the environment you create for you and your family to live in.

The more time you give to others, the less time you need for getting things done, mainly because of the help and support others will reciprocate.

In addition, when you truly give, you unleash your creativity; inspire innovation, and tap into your endless potential.

If you cannot give money – give love, hope, laughter, skills, wisdom, ideas, attention, and a listening ear.

Also, when you are gentle and give to others, you are generally gentle and give to yourself.

The benefits of giving range from security and empowerment of better relationships to good health, longer life, and happiness.

Ask yourself:

– If you are blessed with insights, wisdom and health—what is your giving responsibility?

– If you are blessed with a loving family—what is your giving responsibility?

– If you are blessed with wealth and success—what is your giving responsibility?

In closing, remember – to those whom more is given, more is expected. If you stop giving, you stop receiving!

Belief!

You can have the greatest idea or product, the best branding and market positioning, but if your team members do not fully believe in it, then your business will not flourish.

Just as important as whether your team believes in your idea or product, is do you believe in your team members? What you believe about yourself and your team will hugely impact your performance.

So be mindful of the beliefs you create – be it in your product and ideas or of you and your team.

Your beliefs supported by your actions will create your reality!

The One Thing

Rumi says:
“You can accomplish a hundred other things, but if you do not accomplish the one thing for which you have been sent, it will be as if you have done nothing.”

Rumi is implying that we have a life purpose and if we do not accomplish this purpose, the other hundred things we do, don’t amount to much.

However, how do you find your purpose? One of the few ways to do so is through meditation.

There is no available life manual for it; our teachers and parents seldom talk about it, and our Religious organizations only skirt around the issue.

So, most people grow up doing a hundred things instead of that one thing that means everything.

How about you? Is purposeful meditation in your daily routine?
