What you have to share may be difficult and painful therefore you withhold it. However, if shared in a respectful and dignified manner, the recipient generally will respect your honesty, despite an initial adverse reaction.

Instead, if the truth is revealed later from another source, the trust which is the foundation of a relationship will be violated. The withholding of truth can cause more damaging and harmful consequences.
