It is not always easy to be authentic. Trying to be authentic with a close one can be a challenge if they are not open.
If you tell them what they are doing wrong for their own good can result in a conflict because they will become defensive.
If you pretend all is fine when it is not fine is not being authentic.
So what does one do?
Be authentic anyway and tell people what they are doing wrong without belabouring your point or insulting them. A little conflict arising from this is fine.
No need to sugarcoat and dilute the issue and at the same time no need to go on and on about it. Short and sweet is more effective here.
The fine balance above works well for long term authentic relationships.
