Discipline!

If you are crystal clear about your goals for the day you have a head start. This means not only knowing the sequence of your priorities but also having a tight set of priorities.

Having crystal clear goals aligned to your highest priorities helps you focus. However, you need the discipline not to get sidetracked. Staying focused is not as easy as it sounds. It means staying the course and not deviating from your tight set of priorities.

There are many potential distractions – calls, texts, social media, interruptions from colleagues, family, friends, strangers. Permitting one interruption can cause a ripple effect, separating you from your priorities.

The key is to act on your priorities first before being interrupted by other people’s demands. This notion is achieved through self-discipline and clarity regarding your priorities.

There is ample time in a day to achieve great things. Clarity, focus and discipline are the precursors to success!
