You may be focusing on your child’s weaknesses – he or she is lazy, not focused, rude. However, if instead you focus on their strengths – no bad habits, loving, kind, smart, gets reasonably good grades, great at sports – suddenly your child is not bad.
Similarly, you may be focusing on your spouse’s weaknesses – nagging, negative, too picky. However, if instead you focus on his or her strengths – hard working, team player, excellent manager, loyal, anchor in the house – suddenly your spouse is not too shabby!
Looking at people’s strengths instead of their weaknesses changes your reality.
