The key elements of Emotional Intelligence are contained in the word E.M.O.T.I.O.N

The letter E in emotion stands for Empathy.

Empathy means putting yourself in someone else’s shoes, understand their body language, and responding to their feelings.

People feel validated when you display empathy and are more likely to engage deeply with you.

The letter M in E.M.O.T.I.O.N stands for Motivation. Emotionally intelligent people are self-motivated and consistently work towards their goals and have high standards for quality. This makes them go the extra mile to enhance their relationships with others.

The letter O in E.M.O.T.I.O.N stands for
Oneself. Having self-awareness, self-regulation, and emotional self-control. Self-awareness can be enhanced by journal writing, knowing your values, holding yourself accountable, and practicing being calm. Transformation begins with self. Before you can transform others, you need to transform yourself! It is an inside-out approach.

The letter T in E.M.O.T.I.O.N stands for
Time. When you have a foundation of trust and healthy relationships you save time. There is less of doubting each other.

The letter I in E.M.O.T.I.O.N stands for
Influence. Influence is a result of insight into behaviours of self and others leading to harmonious relationships, congruence, and positive leadership.

The letter O in E.M.O.T.I.O.N stands for
Others. Being able to relate to others in positive ways by taking interest, concern, and genuine curiosity. Organizational awareness, adaptability, conflict management, teamwork all come from relationships with others.

The letter N in E.M.O.T.I.O.N stands for new ways of marrying the head and the heart to become a more effective leader who works with total commitment & empathy. Also realizing that there is always the next level in emotional intelligence.

Harnessing Emotional Intelligence is important for transformation in an individual, a team, a family, a country, and the continent!
