Merit in Both

There is some merit in having a routine – waking up at a certain time, meditation, exercise, reading, having breakfast and reaching work at a certain time. The routine makes things effortless for you, almost like being on cruise control.

However, once in a while it is also good to do something outside your routine. For example, one day take a train to work instead of driving.

Yesterday, I was without a car so while waiting for my son to pick me up, I went to the public library and browsed over some books. It was an invigorating experience reading some powerful literature in a different setting.

Try something different this week. Maybe have a date with your spouse or child by having a coffee with him or her! If this is not what you normally do, you will experience a very different spouse or child – calm, relaxed and engaging!
