At 10 AM on the tenth day of the tenth month (10:10:10 moment) 24 years ago I received a phone call that would change my life.
The call was for volunteering my time to help refugees in Asia! My inner voice and family support made me say yes.
The incredible experience working with people facing abject poverty shook my soul. It made me take a bold step to change my career from ‘accounting for business’ to ‘accounting for life’ so I can speak and write about the power of giving. It felt like a crazy step for most people.
Today, 24 years later, not only am I way ahead in my new career but also I get to do what I love to do every single day.
The phone call 24 years ago was thus priceless because I went to transform the lives of the refugees but in the process, my life was transformed!
