Rare time!

Our children need quality time and love. However, as our children get older, one-on-one time with them becomes scarce. They may have either moved to another city; are very busy, or they just simply have other priorities including friends!

So, when you get a chance to have some one-on-one quality time with them, there are very few excuses, if any, to miss that opportunity.

If you miss that chance, it could take a long time to get it back.

Here are seven ways to keep in touch and positively impact our busy children (18-30 years old):

1. Send a small note regularly to express your love and appreciation

2. Check-in regularly with a short message. For example, “Hope all is well?”

3. Take interest in their sports, work, hobbies, travel, friends, and encourage them to share photos.

4. Create a family group on WhatsApp where you can chat as a family.

5. Plan at least one family trip a year.

6. Empower your children as much as possible, but avoid micromanaging or overpowering.

7. Do not give advise. Instead, be a great role model!
