A life worth living

A Japanese study assessed the concept of Ikigai, which translates to “a life worth living.” Study participants with an average age of 67 were followed for around seven years. The analysis showed a lower risk of death for participants with a high sense of purpose in life. After adjusting for other factors, mortality for participants reporting a strong sense of purpose or Ikigai was about one-fifth lower than it was for others.

A high sense of purpose in life was also related to a lower risk of cardiovascular events.

Purpose is usually connected to giving and making a difference. The gift that you were born with was given to you to fulfill your purpose and create impact!
